Replace my system? Why now?
Our radio commercial on the R22 phase out.
The
production of R22 (a common type of Freon that is used in many
residential heating/cooling units) will stop being made as of 1/1/2010.
This means that HVAC companies will be using recycled refrigerant until
it will be completely taken away in 2020. When the refrigerant
availability
becomes scarcer the price of R22 will skyrocket. This will make
it extremely expensive to “recharge” systems when they become low on
Freon. System replacements will slowly become the less expensive option. The reason
for this phase out is because the Freon, when released into the air, is
an ozone-depleting substance.
The Federal
Government offers Federal Tax Credits of 30% off an installed high
efficiency system up to $1,500 which will expire 12/31/2010! This is
the year to PLAN AHEAD AND BE PROACTIVE. During January 2010, Midlothian
Mechanical will reduce the cost of replacing an old R22 system with a 15
seer, R410a, tax
qualifying systems,
by 10% and an 18 seer or greater R410a,
tax qualifying system,
by 20%. These reductions cannot be combined with any other offers
and are here for a limited time!!!
